Investigators seek hit-and-run driver who killed high school student in Compton
Authorities Wednesday sought public help to find the hit- and-run motorist responsible for a fatal collision in Compton that killed a young man who had been set to graduate from high school on Thursday. Deputies were in pursuit of a reckless driving and DUI suspect at 11:20 p.m. Friday when the driver crashed in the 900 block of Thorson Avenue, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Two suspects exited the vehicle, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred, said Schrader.
